Race Report: Binn Hill Race 2026

Where getting up the hill is only half the challenge!

Summer time in Burntisland means lots of things... the shows! a beach full of vistors! seagulls!! The third Monday of July brings Games Day featuring the second oldest Highland Games in the world... and the Binn Hill Race!

The race is only open to Burntisland residents so the field is small but the Beacon Runners featured prominently in the results with 9 of the 20 particpants being members. We also saw fantastic support with other members providing marhsaling support at road crossings and a boisterous welcome party at the summit. It's typically sunny on Games Day and this was another example which didn't make it ideal conditions for a hill race but all who took part enjoyed the event (after they'd finished obviously!)

Congratulations to all the participants but particulary to Mel Hindle who was first female finisher and Jamie Henderson who was first Beacon finisher. Great job both!
